The Carnival Review

Cool…Well the Carnival is back in town and that is always a good thing!  Make sure to go check out these collections of articles when you have a chance!

107th Carnival of Debt Reduction was hosted by Moolanomy.  He did a great job with the NYC theme.  I’ve never been there but I hope to go someday for the restaurants.  There were a lot of good submissions in this edition and my article on debt avoidance was included.

Festival of Frugality #94 was hosted at My Two Dollars.  I love this carnival because there is always something interesting.  My post on how sewing and cooking are becoming endangered skills was included.

Carnival of Ethics, Values, and Personal Finance #18 was hosted by Money and Values.  I enjoy reading about ethics and money, it makes for interesting conversations.  I submitted my post about debt avoidance and it was included.

Carnival of Money Stories was held at Building An Empire this week.  My story on getting a surprise rebate made it in this edition.

Make It From Scratch #33 was held at Stop The Ride.  She organized it to reflect where everyone was from so that was interesting.  My Reducipe for Chicken Divan made the cut.

Carnival of Recipes was hosted by Everything and Nothing this week.  It was the “Quotable Cook” edition.  My Chicken Divan was also included here.

My favorite articles from these carnivals:

Emotional Impact of Temporary Setbacks @ I’ve Paid For This Twice Already… – This is good reading.  Last month we went out to a few nice dinners with out of town guests and blew our tight budget.  It was really hard not to let that derail our plan for getting back on track this month.

What NOT to Do When Asking for a Raise @ Free Money Finance - When asking for a raise make sure to avoid these tactics.  I can’t imagine the sob story ever works.

About The Financial Injustices Immigrants Face In America @ The Baglady - Interesting read.  You’ve got to feel pretty bad for Pedro in this story.

Cheesiest Fried Chicken Empanadas with Cheese Dip @ And Miles To Go Before We Sleep… - These look great!  I’d add lightly sautéed jalapenos and onions to them and maybe some cumin.  Gotta make it spicy for me!
