Here is my multi-carnival review with my favorites for this week. We decided it would be easier to combine it into one post rather than individual reviews. Enjoy!

Thanks to Kevin for hosting the Carnival of Personal Finance #117. I’m glad to see my submission made it into this edition!
My favorite submissions:
What Do You Do if a Credit Card Employee Calls You? @ Blogging Away Debt - Good information on how to know if it is a scam or the real deal.
Top 10 Money Lessons by Dissecting Billionaire Leona Hemsley’s Will @ KCLau’s Money Tips - I think the information about setting up a pet trust is good. We are currently working on setting one up for our own pets. Many people only think to provide for their human loved ones in their wills and their cherished pets get left out. You would be surprised how many people have no problem dumping their deceased relative’s pets at a shelter. How very sad.
Give Yourself a Payday Advance - Have an Emergency Fund @ I’ve Paid For This Twice Already - To help with this problem we have two funds: an emergency fund for big time troubles and a small overage fund with a few hundred dollars for when we are running a little short. We don’t dip into our emergency fund unless it is a serious situation.

The 25th Carnival of Money Stories is up at Tight Fisted Miser. Eric’s submission about the cheap lunch winning out made the cut.
My favorite submissions:
10 Tips on Life and Disability Insurance @ The Digerati Life - Great post with lots of good tips. I think there may be situations where getting children’s insurance could be useful but not as a savings account.
Money Saving Tip: Shop Now For Holiday Gifts @ Free Money Finance - This is a good idea. A lot of good sales happen at the end of summer so you might benefit from stocking up on gifts for the holidays. Just be sure you don’t buy some now and then more later when you find a slew of new seasonal gift ideas.

The Festival of Frugality #91 was hosted by Stop the Ride. My submission on prescription co-pays was included.
My favorite submissions:
Stop Going Crazy With Birthday Parties For Kids @ Money, Matter, and More Musings - I completely agree with this post. Kid’s birthday parties are out of control. I saw one party in my modest neighborhood that had two massive inflatable moon jumps. Geez. For my nephew’s 1st birthday my sister kept it a small family affair at her home. I “catered” the party with a variety of small plates. It was nice and within reason. I’ll be curious to see if the parties change due to peer pressure as he gets older.
Buying Frugal Souvenirs That Multitask @ Money and Values - Interesting. I wouldn’t have thought about trying to get things I actually need as souvenirs. Who needs more knick-knacks anyway. I have enough $5 magnets.

Make It From Scratch #30 was hosted by The Fat Bottomed Girl and she included my Chicken Tortilla Soup “Reducipe”.
My favorite submissions:
Spontaneous Dessert @ Sunflowers in my Kitchen - I’ll have to try these dessert bars. They look good and basic.
Cheap and Easy: Crispy, Crunchy Croutons @ Home Ec 101 - Great use of leftover bread and much cheaper than buying croutons. Looks like a good recipe.
