I hear the ring toss is rigged…The Carnival of Personal Finance #116 has been posted at Advanced Personal Finance.  I was lucky enough to have my 5 Myths That Can Hurt Your FICO Score post included.  I really like APF’s sense of humor – it was a well done carnival and fun to read.

My favorite submissions this round were:

Examine Your Motives Series @ Clever Dude - I like this series.  What is the real reason you want a house or want to have children?  Something to think about…

Raises – are they for suckers? @ Brip Brap - This is kind of depressing if you are an employee rather than an employer but good info to read.  Looking to be rich?  Being a salaried employee might not be the way….

The Credit Card Arbitrage Game: Making Money From Balance Transfers @ The Sun’s Financial Diary - Want to get into credit card arbitrage?  I prefer simplicity in my finances but I have friends that have been successful in earning some “free” money.  Check it out – just be careful.

Newlyweds and a Checkbook @ Rocket Finance - Marriage, especially for newlyweds, can help couples discover what their strengths and weaknesses are as far as household tasks are concerned.  If you are good with money, handle the books.  If you are good at cooking, take over that area.  It is all about working as a team.  At least in Rocket’s case, the bookkeeping mistakes were in their favor.
